There is a lot that goes on at Lima Community Church. God is doing some incredible things. There is never enough time to tell all the stories and share all of the announcements during a normal service so you can find that information here. Make sure you contact us with any questions. We'd love to hear from you.

Each year, we celebrate Faith Promise weekend as a time to focus on what God is doing through Lima Community Church to support local and worldwide missions. During the weekend services on March 20 & 21, Camille Melki will share with us about his ministry as Director of Heart for Lebanon. Heart for Lebanon began in response to the overwhelming needs resulting from the July 2006 war in Lebanon. This organization provided relief and compassionate ministry, reaching out to the neediest of needy during this post-war time. As the relief projects came to a close, Heart for Lebanon wanted to continue on and turned its focus toward community development projects. Some of their projects include providing scholarships to keep children in a safe school environment with a strong emphasis on ethics and moral behavior as well as providing relief packages to Iraqi refugee families, and providing neighborhoods with desperately needed social and medical support. As we prepare for this important weekend, please continue praying and asking the Holy Spirit about your role in missions and how you can be part of reaching others for Christ. Click the link below to download your commitment card.

Children’s Ministry is gearing up for fall and WE NEED YOU!! We are hoping to start strong on September 4 & 5 with our promotion weekend where all children grades K-12 move on to their next grade level. Yes, we are looking to reopen on Saturday nights and we are excited to do so!! However, we need your help to make it all happen. To make a typical Saturday night happen for kids ages birth to 5th grade, we need a total of 24 volunteers. So, throughout any given month we need 96 volunteers. Right now, of those 96 people, we have 65 committed to help make it all happen. That means, we need at least 31 more people to commit to serving our children. In weeks to come, you will be hearing more about where you can serve. Please be in prayer about what God would have you do. We so appreciate all of you who do serve – we know this has been a burden on your hearts. Please simply continue to bathe this ministry in prayer! (PLEASE NOTE...Saturday night is not the only time we need more volunteers...if anyone is interested in serving during Sunday services, we certainly can use more help there as well.)

We are starting a brand-new series this week called "Play It!" We are going to look at some popular board games and see how, in some ways, life is a lot like our favorite games. In our first week of this 3 part series, we are talking about the power of words. We'll be using the classic board game Scrabble to help us illustrate this point and will be studying James 3:3-12.

Nothing is more instructive than past regret. We may not always know what we should do, but we don’t want to do—whatever we did—again. We feel miserable. It is hard to imagine feeling anything but miserable. But would you believe that it is possible to not only quit being that way, but to actually take the remorse from the past and use it as a tool to better your future? Do you believe that even your greatest regret can be redeemed, that your biggest mistake offers promise to your life and the lives of others? Living a life of regret does not have to be the end of the story.

Are you haunted? No, we’re not talking Hollywood B-movie, ghosts around the corner haunted. Are you haunted by the regrets of your past? Do the things you should have done or not done seem to show up where you least expect them? The first step to moving away from the ghosts of our past choices is to name our regrets—to dig down deep beyond our individual choices and discover “why.” What were our real motives? What was really causing us sorrow? Who have we hurt? Part of the process of working through our mistakes is learning to put words to our regret.

What’s your “if only”? Every one of us has one, two or a hundred different scenarios in which we would do or say something differently. That e-mail we wish we wouldn’t have sent. That relationship that we should have avoided—or never began. We all have things we would do differently if given the chance.
